Jun 27, 2017 Most USB 3.0 ports will work with USB 2.0 devices but shouldn't the other way around. Older hardware is seldom forward compatible with new hardware. My latest computer shows a Generic USB Hub for the USB 2.0 ports on the back and a USB Root Hub (USB 3.0) for the rear and front USB 3.0 ports. - Feb 15, 2018 After some update of USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver - my USB-C port dosen't see any devices except 3.0 devices. Iphone 6 - no (churging is ok) USB hubs - no (hub light indicator works) USB 2.0 devices - no. USB 3.0 drives and storage devices - yes. Device - ASUS ZenBook UX306UA WIN10 PRO - fully updated. Processor - Intel Core i7 6500U.
- I just added a Wavlink USB Hub, 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub, and it seems to be operating as a 2.0 hub. For those that don't know, USB Device Tree Viewer's icon with an 'H' is for 1.0/2.0 ports, and 'S' is for 3.0 ports. Port 10 is physically the same as port 20 under the 'USB Root Hub (USB 3.0)' device.
