I've looked this thing all over on the outside and don't see any numbers.
On Pg. 25 of the original owner's manual, it mentions that the 'machine number' can be found at the crankcase beside the oil filler cap.
There is nothing to see next to the oil filler cap on this saw unless it is hidden under the fan housing.
The reason I ask, I want to know if this saw can be upgraded from a spur sprocket to a rim sprocket. I've seen Oregon rim sprockets that say:
http://www.baileysonline.com/itemdetail.asp?item=RD+18200&catID=364
Stihl 030, 031, 032, 041 (after serial number 5664891)
Replaces Part Number 1110 007 1040 and 1113 640 2000
I would like to know how to tell what S/N this saw is for parts ordering knowledge. Do rim sprockets work on saws that have sprocket pin driven oil pumps ? The picture shown in the link above doesn't appear to have a hole for a pin to drive the oil pump gear. But then, the picture on line may be generic and not a true representation of the actual part.
The owner's manual does list this saw taking a 1113 640 2000 3/8 7 tooth sprocket, but it currently has a .325 8 tooth on it. I just want to make sure the rim sprocket route is a valid path to take before shelling out the bucks for one. I need a 3/8 sprocket to mate with an Oregon 200XXXD025 20' 3/8 x .050 72 tooth B/C combo. I just need to know whether to go with this:
http://www.baileysonline.com/itemdetail.asp?item=RD+18200&catID=364
or this:
http://www.mymowerparts.com/partdetail/1141/13925.php
Or if either one will work.
Are there any pros or cons to rim sprockets vs. spur sprockets if a rim sprocket can be used on this saw?
