Open two documents in Split View

With Split View, you can work with two documents from the same app side by side. For example, open two Pages documents at the same time and share content between them—drag and drop or copy-and-paste text, images, tables, and more between documents. You can make a Split View from the document manager in Pages, Numbers, or Keynote, or if you already have a document open.

Open two documents from the document manager

  1. In Pages, Numbers, or Keynote, open the document manager.
  2. Drag a document from the document manager to the right or left edge of the screen to make a Split View.
  3. Tap another document in the document manager to open it next to the first document.
  4. Once you're in Split View, you can adjust spacing and more:
    • To adjust the spacing of the documents on the screen, drag the divider to the left or right.
    • To turn a Split View into a Slide Over, swipe down from the top of the document.
    • To close Split View, drag the divider over the document that you want to close.

Using Split Screen On Mac

You can use App Exposé to quickly switch between multiple documents at the same time.

  1. With the document manager open, or a specific Pages, Numbers, or Keynote document open, swipe to up to show the Dock.
  2. Tap the app in the Dock to enter App Exposé, which shows all documents open in that app.
  3. Tap one of the documents to open it. Or tap the plus button to open a different document or create a new one in the document manager.
